Hostazym X is a feed enzyme derived from Trichoderma longibrachiatum for use in swine and poultry diets which contain corn-soybean meals, dried distiller’s grain with solubles (DDGS), and wheat as major feed components. Hostazym X helps to change the anti-nutritional effects of the non-starch-polysaccharides (NSPs) contained in these ingredients. As a multi-enzyme complex, Hostazym X has mainly endo-xylanase activity as well as NSP degrading enzymes: endo-1,4-β-xylanase, endo-1,4-β-glucanase, endo-1,3 (4)-β-glucanase, α-amylase and protease activity. It supports the utilization of nutrients in feed containing corn, wheat, DDGs, and soybean meal.
The endo-pentosanase (xylanase) in Hostazym X hydrolyzes xylans, non-starch polysaccharides (e.g. cellulose in cereals) thus reducing the gel-forming (viscous) properties in these raw materials. The degradation on non-starch polysaccharides leads to a reduced viscosity of the digesta supporting availability and absorption of nutrients. Overall the Free utilization of the raw nutrients is also supported.
