BI Architect
The BI Architect is responsible for the design, development, and governance of the organization’s Business Intelligence (BI) architecture. This includes defining the data architecture, designing reporting frameworks, and ensuring effective integration of data from ERP (Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365), CRM, and other core systems into reporting platforms such as Power BI, QlikView, Cognos, and IBM Netezza. The BI Architect plays a strategic role in ensuring the company’s data assets are transformed into actionable insights for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain the BI architecture, including data integration, transformation, reporting structures, semantic layers, and visualization frameworks.
- Develop a BI roadmap aligned with enterprise data strategies and business objectives.
- Design robust, scalable, and secure BI solutions leveraging Power BI, QlikView, Cognos, and IBM Netezza.
- Lead the data modeling, ETL design, and semantic layer creation to support analytics and reporting.
- Ensure seamless integration between ERP/CRM (Dynamics AX/D365) and BI platforms.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers/ETL teams to define data ingestion pipelines from operational systems into data warehouses (IBM Netezza) or data marts.
- Ensure consistency of data definitions, master data, and key business metrics across reports.
- Establish standards for BI development, data visualization best practices, and data security.
- Promote data governance principles to ensure trust and accuracy in business reporting.
- Collaborate with business leaders, analysts, and subject matter experts to gather reporting and analytics requirements.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and oversee delivery of BI solutions.
- Stay informed about BI trends, emerging tools, and advancements in the Microsoft platform to drive continuous improvement.
- Promote self-service BI adoption across business units while maintaining governance.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with BI tools such as Power BI, QlikView, Cognos, and data warehouse technologies like IBM Netezza.
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills (star schema, snowflake, normalized models).
- Experience with ETL processes, APIs, and data integration frameworks.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365 data structures and reporting integration is highly desirable.
- Understanding of enterprise architecture principles, preferably with experience in TOGAF or similar frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging both technical teams and business leadership.
- Leadership in driving data literacy and BI adoption across the organization.
- 5+ years of experience in BI architecture or senior BI roles.
- Experience in multi-system, multinational enterprise environments is preferred.
- Certifications in Power BI, Qlik, or related platforms are advantageous
