Dr. Smith has over 25 years’ experience in poultry health. His main area of expertise is in poultry vaccines and he has experience in all areas of the poultry health business operations, including technical support, marketing, and sales management. In addition, he has experience with research and development, vaccine production, and regulatory affairs.

Dr. Steven Clark is a poultry veterinarian with over 30 years of industry experience including live production, pharmaceuticals and nutrition. Dr. Clark joined Huvepharma in 2020, specializing in turkeys, providing technical support to producers and industry, and supporting the Huvepharma portfolio of biologics and medicinal feed additives and water solubles. Dr. Clark has authored 13 peer reviewed publications and numerous technical bulletins and lay journal articles and presentations. His specialty is turkey production and anticoccidial programs and intestinal health

Omar Gutierrez, Ph.D

Dr. Gutierrez's primary roles involve coordinating applied research projects and interacting with customers to promote and troubleshoot nutrition programs. He has taken part in several new product launches, including Bio D® and OptiPhos® during his tenure at Huvepharma. He received his PhD in poultry nutrition from Texas A&M University and has worked previously for Nicholas Turkey Breeding Farms and for Novus International. Omar and his family live in Austin, TX.


 

Nicholas Brown, DVM

Dr. Nick Brown joined Huvepharma in 2019 where he has spent his time providing technical support and supporting research trials for Huvepharma’s poultry health products after graduating from UGA’s College of Veterinary Medicine. As part of this curriculum, he gained experience with commercial poultry integrators, primary breeders, allied health companies, and diagnostic laboratories.

Mark E Jackson. Ph.D.

Mark Jackson obtained a PhD degree in Poultry nutrition from the University of Arkansas. Mark has past poultry nutritionist experience with:
• Heartland Lysine, Chicago, Illinois. • Continental Grain, Chicago, Illinois. Duties involved diet formulation, research, and the development of a nutrition model. The nutrition model is currently used by the Ridley Corporation (now known as the Ridley model). • Evonik, Kennesaw, Georgia. Duties involved research and technical promotion of amino acids. • Chemgen, Gaithersburg, Maryland. Duties revolved primarily around the promotion of feed enzymes. • Elanco Animal Health, Greenfield Indiana.
Duties included technical promotion of feed enzymes and other feed additives.

Staci Cantley, M.S.

Staci has gained extensive and diverse experience in her 10 years in the poultry industry. In her current role, she serves as a liaison to help convey technical nutritional product information to customers. Prior to her work at Huvepharma, Staci worked as a commercial nutritionist at a multispecies feed mill serving a multitude of poultry production systems. She has comprehensive knowledge in commercial feed formulation, ingredient quality assessment, feed safety programs, and USDA Organic certification and production. Staci currently lives with her family in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Ben Johnson, DVM, MAM, DACPV

Dr. Johnson has over 10 years of experience as a broiler production veterinarian in addition to 8 years of experience in regulatory oversight and diagnostic laboratory management. For the last 13 years, he has worked in the biological and pharmaceutical industry as a consultant, manager, and director. At Huvepharma Dr. Johnson utilizes his wide range of knowledge to develop technical and data management tools to assist customers in utilizing vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and feed additives to their fullest benefit.

Dr. Leslie Johnson has extensive customer-facing and diagnostic laboratory experience in the poultry industry. Before joining Huvepharma, she completed a combined Masters/residency training program in Veterinary Medical Science, Poultry Specialty at Mississippi State University. Dr. Johnson provides technical support to customers with an emphasis on coccidiosis control and intestinal health in broiler chickens.

Andrea Zedek, DVM, MAM, DACPV

Dr. Zedek is a board-certified poultry veterinarian who has spent over 15 years working in the field as a technical services veterinarian for pharmaceutical companies, as well as a private veterinary consultant. She has extensive experience in poultry production, diagnostics, processing plants and animal welfare. She is also very active volunteering for the American Association of Avian Pathologists (AAAP) and is the current president of the American College of Poultry Veterinarians (ACPV).
